Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel will miss Saturday's game against Jacksonville State because of an ankle sprain.
The sophomore's status for the regular-season finale against Florida State is still up in the air, coach Will Muschamp said Wednesday.Sophomore Jacoby Brissett will start in Driskel's place Saturday."Whenever you deal with an ankle, it's a day-to-day process," Muschamp said. "It's a situation that continues to improve. How much it'll improve into next week, I have no idea at this time. We feel like he'll be available, but who knows?"Brissett will be making his second start of the season Saturday. He completed 6 of 8 passes for 64 yards and one touchdown after Driskel got hurt late in the third quarter of last Saturday's game against Louisiana-Lafayette. Brissett has thrown only 13 passes this season.Brissett replaced Driskel in the third quarter Saturday when Driskel went down with the ankle injury. Brissett completed 6 of 8 passes for 64 yards and a touchdown."Got a lot of confidence in Jacoby," Muschamp said of Brissett, who started the Gators' opener this season and played in eight games last year.
